COVID-19
Starwood Equine Veterinary Services is closely monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic and the regularly evolving safety recommendations from various local and state health departments. While this is a trying time, we want to assure you that we will remain open and available for you and your horses.
Starwood is Protecting Your Health
While We Care for Your Horse
The entire team at Starwood Equine Veterinary Services would like to wish you a happy and safe holiday season. We are grateful for your continued support and for your efforts in helping us stay healthy and physically distanced while we care for your horse. With the staggering rise in cases and holiday travel increasing exposure risks, we would like to update you on what we are doing to keep you, our team, and our families safe. While this is a trying time, we want to assure you that we will remain open and available for you and your horses - but we need your help to do this! Below, I outline the protocols our Team is honoring and the practices we are asking of you.
Starwood Team Protocols:
We Need Your Help!:
The entire Starwood team is working hard and constantly adapting to the changing requirements of this pandemic. Thank you for helping me ensure that they stay healthy so we can continue being available 24/7 to care for your horse.
Sincerely,
Starwood Team Protocols:
- Starwood is practicing increased biosecurity. We are keeping non-essential employees working from home and have doctor/technician teams driving separately to appointments to mitigate potential exposure time.
- No employees showing any signs of illness or fever will report to work, handle any supplies you might receive, or appear at patient visits.
- Employees are following the self-quarantine guidelines prescribed by the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control - meaning if anyone travels or has potential exposure to a Covid patient, they will not return to work for 14 days and will have a negative Covid test.
We Need Your Help!:
- Starwood Equine veterinarians work with assistants so your presence at an appointment –– while always enjoyed –– is discouraged during this increasingly high-risk COVID period.
- Please consider a Telemedicine approach. We are happy to see your horse alone and discuss our findings with you via phone or video chat.
- Masks and 6 feet of distancing are required if you are present for an appointment.
The entire Starwood team is working hard and constantly adapting to the changing requirements of this pandemic. Thank you for helping me ensure that they stay healthy so we can continue being available 24/7 to care for your horse.
Sincerely,
The American Association of Equine Practitioners has advised the following precautions.
The Starwood team is always conscientious about biosecurity. In these extraordinary times, we are being even more diligent to keep us all healthy. We appreciate your support and understanding and know in working together we will all get through this difficult time.
Please Be Aware
We are experiencing delayed delivery times from our distributors.
Please allow ample lead time when requesting supplies and medications so that we can ensure they arrive on time!
